Catching high fever and bad sore throat a day before running is a bad sign. But I still go with it as 3 of my friend will be joining on the race day. The fever has cool down but the sore throat is still there. Imagine running where you need water to rehydrate but the feeling of drinking water is very painful. I can't talk as its too painful but I still push myself and only manage to reach the finishing point by 1:04:36.188.
I was quite amazed at first as that was my best time running a 10km, but when taking a look at my sports-tracker it only shows 9.15km. But I'm proud anyway finishing it even though I'm half fit.
For the event, I would say there is a lot the organizer can do to improve such as the starting time, lack of mileage signage+volunteer, safety of runner on the road and the finishing. The organizer are mostly students and maybe the lack the experience in handling an event this big. But kudos to them for organizing this event. It's for charity anyway.
as usual the detail on my race is on my sports-tracker.com
