Last week, I said I could never run under 6min/km pace ever again, but I prove my self wrong. Haha. Not bad for a Fat Boy. Not sure if my sports-tracker are showing extra mileage, it recorded 8.68km whereas my friends using the same software only recorded maximum of 8.2km. The over mileage could be the factor of managing to run under 6min/km pace.

The route was good, no hills like last year's route. My pace are quite consistent but after KM 4, I've started to have stomach cramp. It could be I have mistakenly drink 2 cups of 100 plus instead of mineral water at the KM 3.
After that the usual struggle. The tempo was running, stop, running till the end. Best part of the race even with my struggle, I managed to catch up with a friend of mine, Salman, who is a faster runner(of course) at KM 6.
I have secretly plan try to finish before him actually before the start of the race.
I was running with him from start till KM 2 as I have to walk for a while to take a breather. I was gone after my 3rd walking steps. Managed to catch up with him at KM 6 and run together till the finish.
The last 200m, I try to give myself some final sprint and managed to beat him with a few second split.
Actually maybe the reason I could catch up with Salman and managed to sprint and finish before him was he has just recovered from a bad viral fever.
I pretty sure it was an efforts I could never repeat again in the near future.
