BSN Putrajaya Night Marathon 2014

This is my 3rd year running in Putrajaya Night Marathon (PNM). The route for 2012 and 2013 is the same. The organizers has come out with a new route for this year. Maybe to counter with SCKLM that also comes with new routes that happens to be a day after PNM.

Most of my running friends opted to run SCKLM this year and 2 of them are running their 1st Full Marathon. For me I chose PNM due 2 of my cycling friends are running their 1st Half Marathon.
Since I spend most of my time cycling this year, I did not prepare much for this event. The plan was to follow 7 minute pace from start till the end and with that pace I will finish the race by 2hours 45 mins.

The race start on time at 8.20pm. The new route will take us from Istana Kehakiman towards Menara KBS and a turn to Lebuh Wadi Ehsan. This is the 1st part of the rolling hills, running straight until a u-turn at Presint 17. The route will continue to takes us towards Presint 20, running uphill towards Presint 5 and PICC. Then we will continue to run at Lebuh Wadi Ehsan towards AGC until the final strech to Istana Kehakiman again.
My 1st 5km and 10km splits was quite good but I'm getting slower around 15km. I brought 2 Iso Gel during this race. As the plan was to take this race as a LSD,my plan was not to use any. I was quite tired by the 16km and have to take my 1st Iso Gel and my 2nd Iso Gel at the 18km mark.
This race did not stop at 21km but actually at 22.8km. My timing for the whole 22.8 km was 2 hours 42 mins but I did mark my timing at 21km on my fenix. It show 2 hours 31mins. My last year timing was at 2hours 26 mins.

After the finish line I collect my medal, race tee and other goodies bag and run straight towards the toilet. Haha. Rizal had finished earlier than me so I wait with him for Hasni and Salman to reach the finish line.
Did the usual customary pose for a few picture and head straight back home.
My official time for Half Marathon BSN PNM  is:
Gun Time : 2:42:48
Nett Time : 2:41:40
Ranking 407/1631

I not sure whether I would join again next year. Having seen this event being pinned with SCKLM this year, most runners opted to run SCKLM.  I do believe the organizer for PNM have done their best this year but I felt like something was lacking or maybe SCKLM give more benefits to the runners. In my honest opinion after joining for the 3rd year in a row, their medal are getting smaller, the medal design was at par, no runners booklet (cost saving) maybe and extra mileage plus the Putrajaya residents not quite supporting to this kind of event my deter me from registering next year.
But nevertheless I still have a great time this year. Thank you BSN PNM 2014.
